Honoring the noble donations of patients and families by advancing medical discovery and care.
The Asan Medical Center Brain Bank is a national brain bank designated by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and operates in collaboration with the Korea Brain Bank Network (KBBN).
Based on the generous donations of donors and their families, we systematically collect, preserve, and provide human brain resources to researchers, contributing to the understanding of disease mechanisms and advancing diagnostic and therapeutic research for various neurological disorders.

The Asan Medical Center Brain Bank is a national brain bank designated by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and has operated in collaboration with the Korea Brain Bank Network (KBBN) of the Korea Brain Research Institute since 2017.
Based on the generous donations of donors and their families across the country, we secure and preserve high-quality human brain resources and support their use in research through rigorous review and management procedures.
Donated brain resources are utilized in research on a wide range of neurological disorders, including neurodegenerative, cerebrovascular, neuroimmunological, psychiatric, and neurodevelopmental disorders as well as brain tumors.
These resources contribute to the understanding of disease mechanisms, the development of early diagnostic technologies, and the exploration of novel therapeutic strategies for neurological diseases.
Through these efforts, the Asan Medical Center Brain Bank supports the sustainable advancement of brain disease research in Korea and serves as a key research infrastructure leading the future of medical innovation.
