After its foundation in 1990, the Asan Institute for Life Sciences at Asan Medical Center has organized multiple core labs by inviting experts in various fields in order to enhance and promote professional research. Also, Disease Animal Resource Center, which was the first research animal facility in Korea to be equipped with modern air-conditioning facilities, has gone through two rounds of expansion and relocation in order to provide the ideal research environment. On this basis, the Convergence medicine research center was opened in 2017 with the aim of providing synergistic combination among novel technologies and optimal support for translational research. The purpose of integrated research is to provide advanced technologies from various fields that are relevant to each research project, and to create new translational research values through technology, fresh point-of-view, and imagination.

Accordingly, our center aims to actualize the optimization of quality research service through effective operation of each specialized core technology, and to make the leap to become a hub for integrated technology support for translational research by maximizing the synergy among the cores.
